Joyce, From What you describe, it sounds like your Boot Sector Information has been corrupted or the hard disk surface is failing in this area and causing read failures. Read the information under the Topic "Windows will not Boot Up" by Dana, above in this forum. Also, you never mentioned what computer brand, model or the operating system you have. Was anything changed just before your problems appeared: hardware or software installed, etc? When you answer back to this discussion, give us a little more information about your system.
