You may want to reinstall Flash or perhaps the video. In checking around, I found that with v6 or 7.0.19 Flash player installed on Win XP, both worked fine running flash videos. If after trying the above, you still have a Problem, there may be a resource conflict. The one problem that stands out is the intermittent sound. This can be produced by an IRQ conflict, which is interfering with the flash video loading and playing properly. Check all your IRQ allocations. If you don't find any conflicts, try a different IRQ for your sound card anyway. Sometimes there is a conflict and the system can't see it. I believe that clearing up your intermittent sound problem will clear up your flash video problem.
